Why Content Operations Are Broken – and What It’s Costing You

Imagine you’ve got a digital storage unit with 10,000 labeled boxes, but the labels were handwritten by 20 different people over 10 years. Some say “event footage,” some say “promo B-roll,” some say “version 2 – final_final.” Now imagine someone asks you to find a clip of your star athlete smiling during an interview, filmed vertically, with a Pepsi logo in the background… and they want it in three minutes or less.

Welcome to content chaos.

The reality of today is:

  • 80%+ of content remains unstructured and hard to discover according to Forrester research.
  • 70% of created assets go unused, with teams recreating content that already exists , per Forrester.
  • Marketing and creative teams waste 3+ weeks/year searching for files, as surfaced by Canto research.

Legacy MAMs and DAMs were built for folder structures and manual tagging. They don’t scale to millions of clips across OTT, social, FAST, and internal platforms. More importantly, they don’t help monetize existing content.

The Monetization Gap

Here’s the simple analogy: If your content is inventory, then most organizations are sitting on a warehouse full of goods with no catalog, no barcode scanner, and no salespeople.

Every lost or undiscovered asset is like a product sitting on a shelf gathering dust:

  • A highlight that could have driven fan engagement
  • A B-roll clip that could have been licensed or syndicated
  • A branded segment that could have been reused in a new campaign

If content is your most valuable asset, why is it so hard to unlock its value?

We built Presidio Resonate to help close this gap with AI-powered enrichment and agentic workflows that:

  • Make content searchable and reusable with dynamic, multimodal metadata
  • Automate packaging and compliance for new distribution channels
  • Track content usage, brand placement, and ROI in real time

As we prepare to formally launch Resonate at NAB New York on October 22, this blog series will detail what it is, how we engage, and why Resonate will change the content game.

Stay tuned for Topic 2:  How Resonate Works – And Why Agentic AI Changes Everything. We’ll go under the hood and show how you can go from data ingestion to monetization faster than ever before.
