As demand on its sportsbook platform surged, DraftKings needed confidence that its infrastructure could withstand peak usage during major sporting events. Presidio designed and deployed a chaos engineering framework to proactively identify and remediate application vulnerabilities in a live AWS environment.

THE CHALLENGE

DraftKings needed to ensure that its sportsbook platform could withstand traffic surges during high-profile sporting events such as the Super Bowl and March Madness. With customer experience and uptime on the line, DraftKings sought a way to uncover hidden vulnerabilities and proactively strengthen platform resilience.

THE SOLUTION

Presidio led a chaos engineering initiative, creating controlled failure scenarios to test system behavior under stress. The engagement simulated disruptions, tested response scenarios, and identified and resolved bottlenecks. This strategy enabled DraftKings to reduce application vulnerabilities and laid the foundation for system automation and self-healing capabilities.
