When this publicly traded utility’s on-premises communications platform hit end-of-support, the vendor’s upgrade path was cost-prohibitive. Presidio, a trusted partner since 2012, was invited to find a reliable, lower-cost cloud alternative that could run alongside the company’s existing on-premises collaboration suite across 125 substations. The result: a cloud calling platform giving the ~10,000-megawatt operation the real-time communication it needed without the expensive licensing bill.

Facing a corporate mandate to move workloads to the cloud, this long-time on-premises collaboration client came to Presidio expecting a simple platform migration. Presidio instead ran a strategic work session on the future of collaboration technology, a consultative approach that reframed the conversation from a vendor swap into a broader strategy. The result: a plan to consolidate collaboration applications and expose the shadow IT that had crept in around them.

This university needed its training and classroom spaces to give remote attendees the same experience as those sitting in the room, by tracking speakers, integrating digital whiteboarding, and switching cameras seamlessly to keep everyone equally engaged. After an on-site assessment, Presidio built a turnkey, multi-camera solution deployed across more than 300 training rooms, pairing in-room video with shared whiteboarding, polling, and co-annotation. The result: remote and in-person attendees interact as equals, not as two separate audiences.

With expanding campuses and high staff turnover, this school district was spending more than 40 hours per campus every year just onboarding new users onto a legacy on-premises collaboration system, on top of an unpredictable cost structure that didn’t fit its funding model. Presidio unified calling, messaging, and meetings onto a single cloud platform, replacing manual administration with self-service access and one central dashboard. IT’s focus shifted from managing the platform to supporting students, staff, and parents. The district went from discovery to go-live in two weeks and saw UC admin productivity increase by 83%.
