The Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) is a National contract vehicle that spans across 47 eligible states and encompasses 14 authorized OEM’s for our customers to leverage. This scope of this contract expands across networking, wireless, and server and storage related equipment and components pursuant the proposal submitted for the Virtualization & Data Center Modernization. The contract also includes Presidio’s Managed Services offering as well as Presidio Technology Capital Financial Services.

If you are a public or not-for-profit higher education institution, or K-12 in one of our member states in the MHEC, NEBHE, SREB, or WICHE regions, yes, you can use our contracts.
Nothing is needed if your state is already a member of MHEC or your state is eligible through one of the other interstate compacts: the New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE), the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB), or the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE). Compact membership is legislatively recognized as a state statue in each of the member states.
Yes, but your state pays it on your behalf. There are no membership fees for you to pay to use our contracts, but we do collect a fee from the vendor when institutions use our contracts.
Yes. Because MHEC is an instrumentality of state government in each of our member states and state government funds us, our contracts must adhere to the purchasing policies of the member states.
The Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) is one of four statutorily created interstate compacts designed to provide greater higher education opportunities and services in the Midwestern region. MHEC offers cost containment strategies in insurance and technology. MHEC’s Cost Savings Programs were developed in response to recognized needs by post-secondary institutions.
