SAN DIEGO, June 10, 2015 – Today at Cisco Live, Cisco’s annual IT and communications conference, Presidio announced that it is releasing and demonstrating the version 2.1 update of Presidio Managed Cloud. Presidio will be demonstrating the cloud service portal platform at the Partner Village. The release is in conjunction with Cisco’s announcements of their cloud innovations with Cisco Intercloud Fabric and their ecosystem partners.
The new version of Presidio Managed Cloud is built on the Cisco One platform and is Intercloud Ready. Presidio Managed Cloud is a cloud service catalogue and management portal that enables true hybrid cloud functionality by onboarding cloud services from providers of Cisco Powered services. The management portal provides visibility and portability of workloads across clouds. By leveraging Cisco Intercloud Fabric, Presidio applies a single operational model across a multi-cloud environment and extends the network and security policies of a private cloud to public cloud resources.
“The Presidio Managed Cloud platform is what we describe as the missing link to onboard and manage the new Cisco cloud services that Cisco Intercloud Fabric enables,” said Johan Milbrink, Senior Director of Presidio Managed Cloud. “Via the cloud management portal, an organization can provide its end users and customers the ability to self-serve cloud resources by leveraging multiple secure cloud environments. In addition, the portal enables resource management and provisioning, as well as the ability to move workloads across clouds, all from a single pane of glass.”
“We are pleased to be partnering with Cisco to create the next generation of Private and hybrid cloud management platform,” stated Dave Hart, Chief Operating Officer of Presidio. “The Presidio Managed Cloud platform provides a simple to use, service catalog approach to cloud computing that can help our customers accelerate the adoption of hybrid cloud services. These services can be offered from their private infrastructure or from the public cloud via Cisco Intercloud Fabric and other public offerings.”
Cisco Intercloud Fabric involves much more than just connecting clouds; it also establishes policies across the clouds that make up this distributed compute fabric. It ensures that network and security policies follow the workload and it harnesses an expanded ecosystem of best-of-breed partners and service offerings.
